Website Builder how-tos
How can I get more out of the ParsonsHosting Website Builder?
Use the builder's time-savers: ready-made sections, saved contact details that update everywhere, linked copies of your header and footer, and saved versions you can roll back to. Then put your effort into real content: clear service pages, real photos and an easy way to call. Publish small improvements often instead of waiting until everything is done.

Work faster in the editor
- Start from ready-made sections. In the left sidebar, sections (sometimes called presets) come already built to work on phones. Swap the words and photos instead of building boxes from scratch.
- Duplicate instead of rebuilding. Right-click an item and choose Duplicate, or press Ctrl + D. Handy for adding a fourth service card that matches the first three.
- Use the breadcrumb trail. The bar at the bottom shows what is selected. Click a higher level to grab the whole section.
- Save often. Ctrl + S saves your draft. The disk icon changes color when you have unsaved changes.
- Undo with Ctrl + Z. For bigger mistakes, restore an earlier saved version from Backups in the main menu at the top left.
Change things once, not on every page
- Contact details: store your phone, email and business name under More > Data, then insert them into text with the person icon in the text toolbar. Change the number once and it updates everywhere.
- Header and footer: select your footer, right-click and choose Create reference, then paste the reference on other pages. Edit the original and every copy follows.
- Fonts and colors: set them in the Design menu rather than on each item. Set your main brand color from your logo.
Make the site work harder for your business
- One page per main service. "Furnace Repair," "Heat Pump Installation," "Duct Cleaning." Each page can answer one question and have its own SEO title.
- Say where you work. Name the towns: Sisters, Bend, Redmond, La Pine. Customers search that way.
- Show proof. Photos of finished jobs, licenses, and short quotes from real customers (with permission). Never invent reviews.
- Put a call button near the top. Use a button with a Phone number link.
- Keep the contact form short. Name, phone or email, and "How can we help?" is often enough.
- Write alt text for images. Short and specific: "Kitchen remodel in Sisters, Oregon."
Keep it fresh
- Update seasonal offers and hours.
- Add new project photos every month or two.
- Check the contact form works every few months by sending yourself a test.
- Look at your site on your phone after every publish.
Use Presentation mode before publishing
Presentation mode opens desktop, tablet and phone views side by side in a new tab. Two minutes there catches many layout surprises before your customers see them.
Know when you might outgrow it
The Website Builder suits sites with a handful of pages, a contact form and a simple layout. If you later want a large blog, a full online store, membership logins or custom features, WordPress may suit you better. See WordPress hosting. We can talk through the move with you, and migrations are free regardless of size or time.
