To start a WordPress site on ParsonsHosting, order a WordPress plan (or the 30-day free trial), sign in, open cPanel, and install WordPress with WP Toolkit. Then add a theme, the pages a visitor needs, and a contact method. WordPress is the long-term path. Higher plans include Elementor Pro, so you can design in the browser and still own a WordPress site. It is not the no-code website builder.
What you get on WordPress hosting
WordPress hosting is for people who want a site they can keep. The dashboard, plugins, and (on higher plans) Elementor Pro are how you grow it without renting a closed builder. Plans and list prices:
- Basic, $50/mo
- Business, $64/mo
- Pro, $96/mo
- Elite, $225/mo
Plans include staging, backups, WP Toolkit, malware scanning, and developer support. Higher plans add more sites and tools such as Elementor Pro and WooCommerce. You get a real developer on support, not a script. A 30-day free trial is on the store group if you want to confirm WordPress before you pay.
If you want a no-code site this week and you will not use the CMS, order the website builder instead (/store/ai-website-builder/website-builder-basic). Installing WordPress later is a new order, not a toggle.
What to decide before you order
You need WordPress if you want a blog, a large page tree, WooCommerce, Elementor, or a theme a designer already picked. A one-page brochure you will not grow belongs on the website builder. A .com is $18. A .net is $24. Basic is one live site plus staging. WooCommerce is on the higher plans.
Write down the site title, the admin email you control, and a strong password. You will need those in WP Toolkit.
How to order and install WordPress
- Sign in or create an account at https://parsonshosting.com/login.
- Open
/store/wp-hosting. - Start the 30-day free trial, or choose Basic, Business, Pro, or Elite.
- Complete checkout. Add a domain if you need one. Add OX App Suite later if you want professional email (from $2.49 per user per month).
- In the client area, open the WordPress hosting service, then open cPanel. The existing article "Access cPanel - ParsonsHosting" has the click path.
- Open WP Toolkit.
- Install WordPress on the domain. Use the site title and admin email you wrote down. Do not use
adminas the username if the installer lets you pick another name. - When the install finishes, open WordPress from WP Toolkit. You should land in the dashboard.
If WP Toolkit does not list your domain, wait a few minutes for DNS and the hosting account to finish provisioning, then refresh. If it still fails, email support@parsonshosting.com with the domain and the plan name. Do not run a second installer next to the first.
What to do in WordPress first
Do not install twenty plugins on day one. Do this sequence.
1. Set the basics
- Settings > General: site title, tagline, timezone
- Settings > Permalinks: a readable structure
- Users: confirm you can log out and back in
2. Add the pages every business site needs
Create pages, not posts, for:
- Home
- About
- Services (or Work)
- Contact
A blog can wait. A contact page cannot.
3. Put contact details on the site
Add a form (higher plans may include Gravity Forms), plus a visible phone number and email. Submit the form from a phone. Confirm it arrives.
4. Pick a theme you can edit
On Pro and Elite, Elementor Pro is part of the higher-plan toolset. On Basic and Business, start with a simple theme you understand. A complex theme you cannot edit is worse than a plain one.
5. Use staging before you experiment
WP plans include a staging site. Clone the live site to staging in WP Toolkit, try a plugin or a layout change there, then copy forward only when it works. Do not test checkout or redesigns on the live URL.
6. Confirm backups
Automated backups are on the plan. In WP Toolkit or the backup tool in cPanel, find the restore path once, before you need it. If you cannot see a backup schedule, email support@parsonshosting.com.
How staging, backups, and malware scanning fit together
Staging is a private copy; break it on purpose. Backups let you restore if an update fails. Malware scanning watches the WordPress file set. It does not replace strong passwords. Apply risky plugin updates on staging first.
What not to do on week one
- Do not install a page builder, a slider, an SEO pack, and a chat widget in the same hour.
- Do not leave "Hello world" published, and do not share the admin password. Add a freelancer as their own user.
- If the site loads as http only after install, email support@parsonshosting.com.
WordPress or the website builder if I am still unsure?
Stay on WordPress if you already completed the install and you are willing to learn the dashboard.
Switch your next order to the website builder if you have been in the dashboard for a week and still do not have a contact form live. The builder path is /store/ai-website-builder. AI setup can draft the first page on that path. That does not convert this WordPress install automatically.
For staging, backups, WP Toolkit, and developer support, use /store/wp-hosting.
Where to get help

Email support with the domain, the plan, and what you already tried in WP Toolkit. That is enough for a developer to see the next step.
